The following section contains the collected quotes from Satguru Sirio Ji and earlier Masters of Surat Shabd Yoga.
“It is for you to remain devoted to Him, and keep His commandments. The rest is for Him to do.”
“If we are able to completely relax, be at peace, and completely focus our attention, then we may experience ourselves withdrawing from the physical body and rising above it. At the very least, we will experience a state of very deep peace, or deep well-being.”
“To meet God, to realize God and to do the devotion of God, we need to make our hearts as big as a mountain. Many storms come, but that mountain does not move from its place; the storms come and go, but the mountain is still there. In the same way, we need to make our heart that big.”
“Continuing to move on is very important. Because if we stagnate, then we are no longer alive. A spiritual seeker never gets tired of looking for Truth, looking for spiritual realisation, because if we get tired then we stagnate, and we die spiritually.”
“The Master’s love for His children is immeasurable and unfathomable and the more it is enjoyed the more it grows.”
“We should never get tired. We should keep moving, keep seeking, because if we keep seeking we will eventually fnd what we are looking for. That’s why it’s always very important to expose oneself to the atmosphere of the Satsang. That’s the way to keep ourselves alive, to keep watering the plant of Initiation.”
“If we could just sink in the living present, being totally here with all of our mind and soul, with no thoughts about the past, no thoughts about the future and not even about the present, then our consciousness would expand, our awareness would become very deep, very profound and we would have a perception, very powerful perception of this river of grace, which constantly flows outside and inside of us! Actually, there is no outside, there is no inside! We feel there is this parameter of our body in which we are stuck. But in actuality it’s a river of grace, a river of light that keeps flowing both inside and outside.”
„We say the Path did not really work with me! But how much did you work on the Path? We know that those people who achieved something great, they really put a lot of effort, they really did their best on the Path, by doing so much meditation, by doing so much selfless service, by sacrificing their all life in the mission of their Master! So, if the Path works, it is because of we work on it! If the Path does not work it is because we are not capable of making it function, work!”
“There are different stages through which one has to pass. To attempt to bypass any stage would make one short of development in that particular stage and eventually prolong final attainment. Let every one develop steadily and slowly.”
“Human birth is the highest rung of all creation. It is really a rare blessing which you have got. This has been given to you for attaining divine realization and spiritual perfection. It is a supreme opportunity for striving and obtaining a sublime experience of all-consciousness. It is to be utilized for this great purpose.”
“With all the strength a man can have, he cannot fathom the love of God and of the Master which He has for a loving disciple. The Master stands by the initiates even in dreams. The disciple is guided by His mighty hand each fraction of a second.”
“Whosoever has come on the Path, has taken initiation, has done his/her spiritual practice definitely His/her life has changed correspondingly to how much sincerity they have put in their effort for following the Path.”
„It is the giving that expands us, make us broad and elevates us! We should expand ourselves not theoretically, but practically through our actions!”
„Normally we understand to be high those people who high society, lots of money, important people, politicians. It does not make us a high person, an elevated person, a noble person! It is the way we live our life; how honest, truthful, selfless we are; that shows how high we are or how low we are!”
„If we are sincere in our intentions then we succeed in whatever enterprise we put ourselves, in whichever direction we go. What’s so important is the intention, that noble intention of our decisions, of our choices.”
“People have passions for so many other things, but having a ruling passion for God is very rare! But we don’t get at the end of a road if you don’t walk on it. So, we begin with an interest, curiosity, trying to see what it is, because maybe disappointed with all the rest, so we try something else. And as we keep walking on the Path, by and by it becomes more and more appealing, more and more involving. And the more we go on, the more somehow we get trapped into it and then we can’t get back anymore, because if we look back then it seems really fool. So, we keep going and we keep going and the more we go on then the more we experience something better, something higher. And the more we get involved with it and the closer we get to God, the more everything of us dies off. All our lust, our anger, our greed, our attachment, egoism. All these human weaknesses, they all die off by and by. So, we become more and more dyed in the color of God and eventually when by His grace something special happens and we are uplifted, blessed and enlightened then nothing is left of us and He comes and dwells within us!”
“The loving disciple is always prayerful and repentant for his or her trespasses and lapses committed consciously or unconsciously during the day. Prayer is not for outward show or a gymnasium, but it is an anguished cry of the soul, which stirs the divine grace, and when directed and channelized smoothly works wonders, and the dear initiate is filled with awe-inspiring gratitude, with His grace.”
“Simran must be done slowly and the words are to be repeated or thought out with clarity. The whole process is to be carried out with love, devotion and single-minded attention to ensure quick results. When properly done for some time, a state of divine intoxication comes upon the spirit and blessed calmness is experienced.”
“Supreme Father Kirpal used to say, “If a pigeon closes his eyes when he sees a cat, and thinks that the cat cannot see him, after a moment he finds himself in the mouth of the cat.” If he had flown away before the cat could catch him, he would have been saved. Our condition is the same: we should not close our eyes in the face of all these passions, we should be wide awake, we should be alert, and we should do the meditation of Shabd Naam. We should fly with the wings of the Shabd Naam before they can attack us, before we fall into their trap.”
“The more you absorb yourself into that Light and Sound, the more love will overflow from you.”
