“Passion is very important in anything we do. When we come to spirituality and spiritual practice there also we need a passion for it. If we don’t have this passion then we don’t get anywhere. Master Kirpal always used the term “a ruling passion for God”.”
“Any spiritual practice has to be enough intense. Not too much, otherwise, you may freak out, and it may make you imbalanced. But also, if you don’t apply it with a due intensity, then it will take you nowhere. So, if you take any activities that human beings do, when do they work properly? When they are done with due intensity, with due discipline and regularity, without overdoing. Otherwise, you collapse.”
“Where does the Path want to take us? It wants to take us to the Supreme Realization of the Supreme God. That which is above everything. Time, space, causality, and so on. But how do we get there? That’s the important thing. How do we aim at something? But then we have to travel to get there. But how do we travel? That’s the most important thing on any spiritual Path. Because, if you take food let’s say. You may eat the most organic, natural, excellent food, vegetarian, very nicely cooked, but if you eat too much then it’s not good. It’s not going to do any good to you. So, in this case, you might eat food, that is not excellent, but if you eat the proper quantity then it’s fine. It will give you strength. So, anything it requires a method. It requires discipline. It requires doing it properly. So, meditation, the practice of Surat Shabd Yoga if you do it correctly will take you to the Supreme Reality. But how do you have to put it into practice? That’s the most important thing.”
“In the spiritual realm, Light and Sound always go together. All those who have a mystical experience or a near-to-death experience will all say there was a Light and there was also a Sound. The outer temples, whichever of the Hindus, the Sikh, the Buddhists, the Christians all have these two symbols. In any of these religious places, you find these same two symbols always. Light and Sound. You might have a candle, you might have a bell, you might have a drum or you might have anything, but there are always these two symbols. Because that is how it is. God-into-expression power manifests in these two main ways. And they always go together. So, once you go deep into meditation and you see the Light, and the Light becomes very bright at some point, the Light begins sounding also. It’s always accompanied by sound.”
“The goal of any spiritual Path is to take you to a state of consciousness of the Divine.”
“Any spiritual Path must be a practical Path. Something on which you work according to the method to come to experience what the Path offers to you. So, if you don’t put it into practice nothing is going to happen. And this is not just about Surat Shabd Yoga or any other type of Yoga. It’s about everything in life. You are given a theory about something. How to do this. How to do that. But if you don’t do it nothing is going to happen. So, a Master proposes something to a seeker. I propose to you a Path that’s called Surat Shabd Yoga. But if you don’t put into practice the Path, the methodology then nothing is going to happen. So, first of all, it has to be put into action, in practice if you want to get any results. Otherwise, it’s pure theory, belief, or doctrine which doesn’t take you anywhere.”
“When we suffer a lot then we are capable of making decisions in order not to suffer again in that way and improve and become better human beings. There is a saying that says “We often find ourselves facing great blessings dressed up as unsolvable problems”. And very often the toughest is the problem the bigger is the change.”
“Evil it’s an apparent phenomenon. Like everything, it’s real and unreal. It has a purpose and the purpose is evolution. As far as it may seem absurd, evil is very important. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be evolution in this world. It’s like why is there suffering? Suffering is there because we need to learn things. It’s not a malediction going through a very intense suffering period in life. Sometimes from the darkest experiences, there comes out the brightest transformation. So, suffering and evil also are needed.”
“God is a phenomenon that keeps renewing itself. And He is never the same. So, how can you believe in the words of a person that came centuries or millennia ago? Some Truths are always valid, but the basic message doesn’t apply anymore to the times. Because Truth keeps renewing itself. It’s never the same.”
“Once we transcend this body, once we transcend this physical consciousness and we raise into the Light then in a minute you can so much information that all the books on this Earth do not give it to you.”
“Logic and reason do not take us to the Truth. Also, the scientific method doesn’t take us the Truth. Because the scientific method is very cold and goes with reason and they see nothing else. So, we talk about many things, but eventually what reveals the Truth is silence. The real Truth is in silence. Words inspire us to move on in a certain direction. But eventually what reveals the real Truth is silence. So, it’s very good to understand deeply life from a mental point of view, theoretically. But that’s not enough, then we have to experience it also. And silence will reveal it to us. Silence in the body, silence in the mind, then the Inner Vision opens and we are flooded with Light. And that will reveal all the Truth.”
“It’s a great fact that’s very difficult to take that this separated I is an illusion. This person with whom we are so much identified it’s also an illusion. It’s a temporary experience. But this will also end, and then we will have to unite with the Supreme I. So, the Supreme I is the real, and the individual I is the illusion. Is the false identification. It’s very important to understand these things, and not only to understand them but to live by these principles and convictions.”

Only the Master will help you. ” Because it’s a friend here in this life and if you stick to it, it will be a friend for you and with you forever. Even when you leave the body. He will be there meeting you and welcoming you and guiding you in the other world.”
